In band(s) : CLEM SNIDE

Eef Barzelay is the singer-songwriter fronting Clem Snide, his quirky, intelligent, beguiling group that has been labeled an alternative-country act for lack of a more suitable tag.  But he and his band mates may just as well be termed art-folk-rock or jazzy psych-country, as long as no mainstream banner belittles the poignancy and razor’s-edge humor of Barzelay’s subtly adventuresome material.

Barzelay’s lyric songwriting is among the most imaginative and arresting to come out since the end of the 1990s.  Prolific, uncompromising, tuneful, his body of work has been guided by cinemascope-size introspection and kaleidoscopic absorption of society’s archetypal knick-knacks.
