The Left-Handed Guitar Players That Changed Music By John Engel
Danny Gatton

Plays Guitar Right Handed with default stringing.

Like Mark Knopfler, Danny Gatton was left-handed in everything he did except playing guitar. Dubbed “the world’s greatest unknown guitar player” by Guitar Player magazine in 1989, and “the fastest player alive” by Rolling Stone that same year, Gatton was the definitive hot-rod guitarist.
His technique, both in the right and left hand, was awe-inspiring.  He could alternate styles with effortless dexterity, flatpicking flurries of notes at the speed of a thunderbolt, fingerpicking any given tune à la Merle Travis, using his plectrum for melodic runs while plucking flawless rhythmic patterns with his fingers, or vice versa, then emulating pedal-steel solos with powerful interwoven bends and slides of multiple strings.
